OSAT NVQ (On Site Assessment and Training)
The NVQ was created by members of the Carpenters Fellowship in collaboration with the CITB. This is an internationally recognised qualification.
The NVQ is a true vocational qualification. Evidence is collected by both the timber framer and the assessor. My roles is to support you through the process on an individual basis that includes a visit to your place of work.
Evidence takes the form of: video evidence, witness testimony, examination of product, recorded professional discussion, toolbox talks, drawings, site paperwork (RAMS), and submitting your own digital portfolio.
Structural Post and Beam Carpentry Level 2 QUC 900
For those new to Timber Framing or on an Apprenticeship minimum experience 18 months - 2 years
Structural Post and Beam Carpentry Level 3 QUF 902
For the Experienced Worker - 3 years minimum
Heritage Skills (Construction) - Wood Occupations Level 3 QUG 870
This qualification is very useful if you are involved with heritage work eg with The National Trust, English Heritage, and other historic buildings
